Google Core Update 6/2021: Google updates the new algorithm

Around June 2, 2021, Google officially launched a major annual algorithm update. As promised last year, and then delayed, the Google June 2021 Core Update has begun rolling out. This will likely be an update that focuses more on the user experience on the page, with Page Experience being one of the new algorithms.

1. Announce Google algorithm update 2021 on Twitter

Yesterday, June 2, 2021, Google made an official announcement on Twitter about updating Google core update 2021. They also added that right after this update, there will be one more core update for July. .

Google originally planned to roll out quite a few changes in the 2021 algorithm update for this June. However, they did not fully prepare in time (despite delaying this core update from May to June morning). This explains why they release two core updates continuously for both June and July.

Launching two separate updates within 2 months is almost never the case before. Anyway, Google has reassured everyone that these two Google core updates 2021 will not affect websites too much.

But that's often not the case, we'll see what happens over the next few weeks. It usually takes 2 weeks for a core update to be completed by Google. (As last December's update was from December 3 to around December 17).

2. Explanation for the two rounds of Google core update 2021 June and July

To quote Danny Sullivan from Google on Twitter:

“There are a few improvements we plan to roll out for the June 2021 update that are not yet complete. So we decided to release the completed parts for this June first, and the rest will be released for the next batch in July.”

Instructions on how to restore websites after Google core update 2021 for website owners are still the same as every year.

And so, we advise that people not be too alarmed when they are heavily affected by this big update in June. Conversely, if your website benefits from the June Core update, don't be too happy. Because there are 2 timelines, the situation may change 180 degrees: 1. When the June update is complete (expected 2 weeks from now). 2. When the July 2021 update is deployed.

Furthermore, Mr. Sullivan said:

“Of course a core update will always have a bad effect on some websites and good on others. But because of the reversible nature of the core update (eg: Increasing traffic to the core update phase 1 can reduce traffic to the core update phase 2), it is very likely that the content affected in June will return to the way it was. July.

Also remind everyone that the core update is not specifically targeted at any site.

Most likely this 2021 core update focuses on the user experience on the page. Factors like Core Web Vitals or interstitial ads will be the new ranking factors this time around. You can review Google's announcement of this 2020 update, which includes the new Page Experience algorithm.
