On July 23, local authorities were forced to ask communities living near the forest fire area to quickly evacuate to a safe place. Local media reported that the number of people displaced was 2,439. The "fire enemy" also damaged at least 10 buildings and the organizers were forced to cancel the Death Ride, an annual bicycle race, which trapped thousands of riders and spectators. More than 1,300 personnel and firefighters were mobilized to extinguish Tamarack.

According to meteorologists, in the coming weeks, the weather in Alpine will continue to be hot and windy, making the forest fire situation worse. With the current rate of fire extinguishing, it is forecasted that it will not be until the end of August for the fire force to extinguish the Tamarack fire.
