On October 4, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) released millions of documents revealing the financial secrets of at least 35 world leaders and former leaders, as well as those of more than 330 politicians politicians and officials in different countries.

The ICIJ described the revelation of illicit financial activities in the Pandora filings as the largest-scale event. The investigation involved more than 600 journalists in 117 countries with more than 11.9 million leaked files spread around the world.
