Acting Foreign Minister of the newly formed interim government in Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said on October 9 that during a meeting with the US delegation in Doha, Qatar, the two sides discussed a series of issues, including: opening a new page in the relationship between the two parties.

Al-Jazeera TV channel quoted Muttaqi as saying that at the meeting, the Taliban delegation focused on humanitarian aid and implementation of the Doha agreement. In addition, the Taliban government delegation asked the US to lift sanctions on the central bank of Afghanistan.
The US side has expressed its willingness to provide a vaccine against COVID-19 to the people of Afghanistan.
It is expected that the Taliban delegation will also meet representatives of the European Union (EU) to discuss the latest developments in this southwestern Asian country.
